This TV serial describes General Zhu De's military and legendary life.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Zhu De graduates from Yun Nan Military School and then takes part in a series of battles led by General Cai'e for the Independence of Yun Nan Province and to overthrow Yuan Shikai's reign. Through these battles he gradually becomes a famous general in the army. But after the death of Geneal Cai'e and the losses of many friends and relatives, he feels disappointed and resentful towards the wars between the warlords. Just at the uncertain moment of his future, he joins the Communist Party of China through the introduction of Zhou Enlai. From then on he becomes a faithful proletarian revolutionary.
Then in 1927 he and Zhou Enlai leads the Eighth First Uprising which shocks China and the whole world. Under his correct leadership, the insurrectionary army breaks one encirclement after another by KMT and finally unites with Mao Zedong's army in Jin Gang Mountains. Later he as well as other generals leads the Red Army on the Long March.
During the Anti-Japanese War, he becomes the Commander-in-chief of the Eighth Route Army and contributes a lot for the victory of the war. And during the Civil War, he and Mao Zedong lead the People's Liberation Army defeating KMT, winning the Three Great Military Campaigns and finally establishing the People's Republic of China.
As one of the founders of the new China, he is awarded the title of marshal with nine other generals in 1955. |
