Content brief introduction:
From Dec. of 1937 to May of 1945, Chongqing served as the second capital of China during the Anti-Japanese War as well as the center of the Far East for the four Allies to fight against the Fascism. After the Pacific War broke out, it became the Allies' commanding center of the China War Zone. Its transportation, such as railways, highways and inland water shipping were rapidly developed. In Jan., 1937, the Central agencies of the CPC and its top leaders entered Yan'an city, which then became the commanding center situated behind the enemy lines. Then the Eighth Route Army marched eastward and crossed the Yellow River into Shanxi Frontier and far behind the enemy lines, establishing a lot of anti-Japanese base areas.
